We welcome you to Staithes – our home
We’re a village full of passion & could talk for days as to why you should come visit us – pop into any of the pubs & you’ll discover this! We’re a little piece of heaven nestled into the cliffs of the North Yorkshire Coast, unspoilt & charming.
A village lost in time built on fishing with a history going back to the Bronze Age, encompassing Captain Cook, untouched Georgian & Victorian cottages, The Staithes Group of Artists, there’s even a WW1 camp!
Staithes is ideally placed for relaxation and recreation for all the family, not forgetting our four legged friends – the pubs, the beach, a lot of the cottages and B&B’s are dog friendly.
Chill out on the beach or in front of a roaring log fire. Meander the narrow ginnels & alleyways admiring the higgledy-piggledy cottages. Lose all sense of time.
For the more active – there’s lots of walking (the Cleveland Way runs through the village), cycling (we’re on the No1 cycle route), rock pooling, fossil hunting or we’re ideally placed to explore the North York Moors. We could go on but why not have a look at our Top 10 Things to in Staithes.
